Program Overview

Built on a strong foundation of the psychological theories of learning, the Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) program develops innovative, educational leaders who seek to transform teaching and learning. Graduates will be able to utilize technologies to support teaching and learning in a range of educational environments, and also develop deep understandings of how, when, and why to integrate technology to support learning processes. The MAET program offers flexible pathways (with online, summer hybrid, and summer overseas options) and award-winning courses that have been recognized by MSU's AT&T Instructional Technology Awards for best practices in the use of technology to enhance teaching and learning.

We teach students how to think deeply about technology and to put that thought into practice. Students will discover how to think critically about learning, and establish practices to integrate current and future technologies into their profession.

Program Outcomes

In the MAET program, students:

  • Explore innovative ideas & technologies with pioneering educators
  • Create powerful solutions and artifacts for teaching & learning
  • Share with our global network of thought leaders as they lead in their local context

Career Outlook

The MAET degree prepares students to be thought leaders in their professional contexts.
